When do we need FAW:

The need to invest in FAW becomes evident under several key scenarios, signaling the opportune moment for organizations to leverage its capabilities:

  • Exponential Data Growth: As your organization’s data footprint expands beyond operational limits, traditional analytics tools may struggle to keep pace. FAW becomes essential when managing vast volumes of data becomes cumbersome, offering scalability and performance optimizations to handle even the most extensive datasets effectively.
  • Performance Issues with Day-to-Day Reporting: When day-to-day reporting processes start encountering performance bottlenecks, it’s a clear indication that your analytics infrastructure requires a more robust solution. FAW steps in to alleviate these issues, providing optimized reporting capabilities that ensure swift access to insights without compromising on performance.
  • Integration of Multiple Data Sources: In today’s data-driven landscape, valuable insights often lie at the intersection of disparate data sources. FAW becomes indispensable when businesses need to consolidate and analyze data from multiple platforms, including both internal and external sources/ also both Oracle and non-oracle data sources. By enabling seamless integration and analysis across diverse datasets, FAW empowers organizations to derive comprehensive insights for informed decision-making.
  • Growing Complexity in Analytics Requirements: As the complexity of your analytics requirements evolves, traditional reporting tools may no longer suffice. FAW offers advanced analytics capabilities tailored to address complex use cases, such as predictive modeling, trend analysis, and machine learning. When your analytics needs outgrow the capabilities of conventional tools, FAW emerges as the solution of choice, providing the sophistication and flexibility required to tackle modern analytics challenges effectively.

Where do we get it :

FAW is part of Oracle Infrastructure As Service/ Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse is built on top of Oracle Analytics Cloud and is powered by Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse. So, we get it as part of an OAC subscription, or you can get an FAW + OADW subscription.

If your organization provisioned Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse as of Platform Release 23.R3, you work exclusively with your business user content in Oracle Analytics Cloud.

Suppose your organization provisioned Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse before Platform Release 23.R3. In that case, you need to migrate the existing KPIs, cards, and decks by recreating them manually in Oracle Analytics Cloud or using the migration utility on the console available to administrators.

Who gets the most benefit out of FAW:

  • Clients with multiple data sources for better reporting/analytics
  • Clients with continuously growing high-volume data
  • Clients who already have an OAC subscription

How can we implement it:

Here are the high-level steps/activities we need to perform to implement FAW:
